Coach Frisco sustained a grievous lip injury (and lost his glasses) after being knocked overboard during a collision whilst sweeping the Mixed 500m final. After a restart following Golden City Dragons losing control and colliding with Paddlesnappers, Golden City lost control again and slammed into the Snappers with enough force to send Marty into the canal. Fortunately he managed to hook a foot over the gunwhale, and was able to climb back in with enough time for Snappers to disentangle themselves from the other boat and go on to win the race.
